My Kitchen

So since I'm still in the process of putting together my apartment, I'm going to post pictures in stages. This is my kitchen, with the top 3 pictures being when I first moved in, and the bottom picture is after my purchase of a kitchen cart yesterday....so much better. I can actually cook now.

Ocean City, MD

So last weekend was my first experience at the Maryland coast. It was interesting, to say the least. One of my co-workers described Ocean City as the redneck Riviera and it was quite accurate, I must say.

Baltimore

Just a note: John took the last picture, so I can't take credit for it, but it's a really great picture.

The Lovebirds

So we went to an Ansel Adams exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery a while ago, and so I was inspired to take some black and white pictures. I think the colored ones turned out better though, with the pastel-ness of them.

Fish Eye Camera!

So I only have a few more fish eye pictures to post, as my new fish eye camera is, wonder of all wonders, a film camera and I haven't developed another roll yet. But these are kinda cool pictures.

Nothing like running at a bunch of pigeons.

There were these crazy garbage statues at the National Geographic Museum, so I thought I would pose with them.

Ahhhh...the beach

The fourth and fifth days were spent, not so relaxingly, at the beach. The joys to be had with an inner tube on massive ways, while quite enjoyable, are tiring. John has all of those pictures on his computer, so once I get them back I can post them as well, but here are my favorites from Vieques.

The most georgeous tree ever - the Royal Poiciana tree. I bought one a couple of months ago, but unfortunately it went the way of my banana trees.

A common slogan on Vieques - Peace for Vieques. Two-thirds of the island are former bomb testing grounds for the Navy.

El Yunque, the Rainforest

The third day was spent hiking in the rain forest, and then other ridiculous adventures, which involved riding in a plastic chair in a van with a drunk birthday boy, swimming with tiny glowing bacteria, and other things. All the pictures are from the rainforest.

San Juan, Part II

So the second day we took the one metro line in San Juan out to the Botanical Garden, as of course I must check out the public transit. So they totally ripped off the design from DC, just executing it in metal instead of concrete. The trains, the fonts, even the ad boards were identical.

In the garden itself, we saw some wildlife, which was obviously used to posing for pictures.

Old San Juan

I don't have many recent photos to put up, so I'll catch up. These are few of my favorites from Puerto Rico, in Old San Juan.

Puerto Rico is where I fell in love with my digital macro, and now I pretty much only take pictures of things really close up.

This picture (of the water main covers) is my all-time favorite picture of the trip. I took so many pictures of them all over the city.

Welcome to the inner workings of my brain (or the outer workings of my camera, whichever I decide)

So the crazy overwhelmingness of Xanga's confusing layout has caused me to seek the calm minimalism of the joy that is google. If you want to catch up on my previous life though, my old blog is...

But anyways, enjoy the ride.
